Hey guys, I recently upgraded my WRT54G Router to the Firmware Version: Satori-4.0 v2.07.1.7sv so that Wall Watcher would work with my WRT54G. I also run Mynetwatchman. I noticed that WW wasnt reporting ANY of my inbound logs. So I searched around here and found some information on my WW and the WRT54G arent talking. So I copied some commands and pasted them into the CMD console in the web interface. Now it works but WW reports the inbound ports and port zero. For example I ran over to GRC.com and ran the common ports test. It shows the inbound connection attempt but no ports are listed. Could someone help me or tell me what I did wrong???

We have a 'how to configure Satori' page which I know works here with our WRT54GS with Link Logger and we see both inbound and outbound events. You can find this setup page here http://www.linklogger.com/satori_setup.htm

I found that the easist way to do this is to enable the syslog daemon and point it to whichever box you have wallwatcher running on.

Will your iptables entry still be required with the newer beta versions? I am considering LinkLogger as it looks good, but am not sure about it yet. (I'm a cheap ass)

Edit:Oops, found my own answer from the licence agreement "....Also there is no warranty that Link Logger will work with new firmware releases....."

The Alchemy version doesn't require the IPTable setup (see http://www.linklogger.com/alchemy_setup.htm ), and is supported by Link Logger.

Now the IPTable setup that you are talking about is required for any external logging tool, so its not just a Link Logger thing, but how you get the current Satori and Hyper_WRT firmwares to send out their logging information to external logging tools like Link Logger and WallWatcher. Hence why WallWatcher users can use our setup pages to get WallWatcher working as well.

If in the future for any reason (rather highly unlikely as its a huge reason for the third party firmwares in the first place) Hyper_WRT or SveaSoft break the ability for the Linksys to send out its logging information then everyone (meaning WallWatcher and Link Logger users) is SOL unless they want to continue using an older firmware version, but as I mentioned this is rather unlikely.
