WAN ip times out once a week?

    Hi all,

    I have had two routers do this on me now, WRT54G and E2000. We lose internet at home until I jump into tomato and force a release/renew on the WAN side. It happens very randomly but usually longer than a week duration between timeouts. I use Comcast with a Motorola 5101. I've hard reset the Motorola with no luck. Is this common? Any advise would be appreciated. I'd have to script reboots or anything like that unless this is just common practice. I doubt it is the modem as I don't need to reboot it to regain internet. Thanks!

    This isn't common. Since you have the same trouble with two routers, seems as if the modem (or the ISP) is the problem.

    I would use the Scheduler tab to reboot a couple times a week and see if that covers up the problem.
