I got a WAP54G from my boss that's supposed to be broken ...
The AP was from a costumer (used to work in a pc shop) and he came in with it a few times. We tested it with the costumer present, just hooking it up on a router and everything worked always, but when he came home it didn't do anything. After a few times my boss switched it but he never send it back to linksys. When i resigned he gave it to me since i was convinced it was Ok.
But now .... when i hook it on my switch almost every led lights up, i can see it in the wireless devices list on 2 laptops but none of them gets an ip. My network has it's own DHCP server and when i look at the leases there's no sign of the WAP54G. Pinging it to the .254 adress doesn't work.
When i connect it to the power, the power led and Link led of WLAN lights up and the activity led start blinking. Wen i then connect it to my lan the same leds remain but on the LAN side Link/act led is on (sometimes blinks 1 time), the Full/coll leds stays on :( and the 100 led is on (red). When i reset it it acts normal but then comes to the same status. Linksys setup prog can't find it. Do you guys think this is something pure hardware or is it something with the firmware and can i someway reset / rewrite the firmware. OR ... i'm just a dum f*** and do i have to put it up another way ? .... :) ty in advance

First of all, reset your AP by pressing the back Reset button for 15 secs.
I believe the address to access your AP is .245 not .254.
You probably have different subnet masks.
