I've got 2 WAP54Gs working in bridging mode

The first is a hardware v2 unit running stock linksys 2.08 firmware
The second is a hardware v3 unit running stock linksys 3.03 firmware

They are sitting next to each other on the bench with a laptop hooked to each one. I have them locked in G mode and all other settings are the same on each device.

I get different throughput values depending on which end of the bridge I am on.

Data sent from the v3 to the v2 registers between 15 and 20Mbps
Data sent from the v2 to the v3 registers between 7 and 9 Mbps

I did upgrade the firmware on the v2 unit with the HyperWAP (v2.0.7) and increased the power to 84mw, it had no effect at all.

    Just a few questions

    1. Why is there a difference between the throughput values?
    2. Why am I not seeing anywhere near the advertised 54Mbps?
    3. Anything I can do to not only increase the bandwidth but to make it the same in both directions?
    4. Anyone know of any alternative firmware that works with the v3 hardware units?
