And I wondered if somebody could assist me. The last time I was able to use this was back in 2004 and I was using Adelphia for my internet. When I couldn't get it to connect to the internet, Adelphia helped me out. I have no recollection whatsoever on what they had me do - I can't remember.

I am now living in an area that only has Comcast. That's who I use. They have adamantly told me they will not give me any tech support with setting up my LAN and router since I'm using a 3rd party router. The people I have talked to will not give me ANY information, whatsoever.

So let me lay this out there...I can hook up my desktop computers to the router and they connect to the router, no problem. I can get the setup pages to come up, and everything. I go through the motions of setup provided in the manual, NP.

I'm at a loss what to do beyond that, because it just does not connect to the internet and I'm confused on what to do next because I'm no expert. Can somebody assist me, here? I'm so lost.

I would go with Comcast's home networking, but think it's ridiculous to pay $10/month with $100 install for equipment that I already have, I just don't know how to use it. I also remember working with this router on Adelphia and I really liked it and understand how to configure it once I get it hooked to the internet.

I have all the cables connected to where they are supposed to go and I powered the equipment on in the proper order....keep in mind that I followed the order of everything given in the manual - those are steps I have already taken. I need assistance beyond the manual.

    ETA -'s a WRT54G

Thank you! I will try these as soon as I get a chance. I tried googling many different terms to find a page like those and didn't come up with anything useful. You're a lifesaver.
