I bought 2 linksys WRT54GL to use with Access Point + WDS (both) to expand internet conectivity.
I follow WDS configuration from tomato's homepage (http://www.polarcloud.com/tomatofaq#how_do_i_use_wds) and now it runs ok.
I can see on tomato's firmware that WDS gets 7-12% quality from the router who have internet and sometimes my computer lost the internet conection.
I don't lost wifi conectivity but internet doesn't work and I only can enter to second router.
1st router is connected to internet and configured to Access Point + WDS
2nd router is configured to Access Point + WDS
and computer connects to 2n router.

I don't know but, would be that I receive poor connexion from 1st router and lost the strongest connection of 2nd router to connect to 1st router and for this i lost the connection? It would be this problem?

    Thanks :)

You might be right about the source of the problem. You could see if it helps to enter Tomato and increase the signal strength of BOTH routers: "Advanced," "Wireless," "Transmit Power" can be safely set to 84 (twice the default of 42).

Also, what kind of wireless security are you using? For WDS mode, people seem to have had the best luck with WPA + AES

    Thanks for response.
I increased signal to 75 and the security is WPA + AES. I follow the FAQ of tomato's page.
But i'm not sure if both routers have 75 of signal. Tonight i will see it.
    Thanks again.

Also, if your have WRT54GL routers, I would suggest using the ND version of Tomato (if you're not already). Many have found that the new wireless driver is more stable and works better with WDS.

A possibly stupid question, since I'm more or less in the same boat.

What's the difference between the ND and non-ND builds? What are the advantages each over the other?
