I am trying to setup NTFS partitions on my USB drive so I can backup to it via the internet. There are some things that I don’t understand:

    1. I don’t understand the relationship between partitions created when the drive is connected to a USB port on the PC and when the drive is connected to the router. The router seems to only recognize NTFS partitions as NTFS1, NTFS2, etc., regardless of what you name them when the drive is connected to the PC. Likewise folders created in My Computer aren’t recognized by the router.

    2. I can see the drive on the internet at \\Hostname and ftp://Hostname, but I can’t copy any files to the drive.

    3. How do you create shared folders that can be accessed via the internet/ftp??
