I bought a WET54G on recommendation to replace a cable running across the living room floor to an EZXS55 5 port switch. So far I have not been able to get it to work.

Part of the problem is I don't know what the II-X switch on the back of the WET54G should be set to for setyup, and whether it should change from during setup (when the box is on the cable) to after setup when the cable from the WRT54G is disconnected, and the cable from the WET goes to the old 5 port switch.

The other problem is the installation software. Not only is is it a hard to read low contrast white text on a trendy pastel lime green background, but worst of all the entry/edit fields do not line up with the rest of the screen (with the field labels, etc.). I'd be happy to post a screen capture of this.

Would sure like some help or I'm going to have to send this "bridge" back and eat the restock fee.

The X-II switch is to make the port Xover or straight thru. It should be in the II position for the switch, and I think the X position for the modem. however, your setup isnt going to work unless you either have a router or alternatively your ISP gives you enough static IP addresses for all your pc's. The WETs need to be set up in adhoc (not true bridging)
