"The requested URL '%.80s' is protected by an authentication file, but the authentication file cannot be opened"

I get this message after I get logged into the admin pages via web browser...

    Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing here, but I'd say the password files on your ext3 hard drive are corrupted.

This probably isn't something you did unless you changed the password, groups, or shares and shut down the HD power before turning off the NSLU2. This may just be a bad sector in the HD.

I'm not sure if a NSLU2 scandisk will fix this or not.

Is there data on that drive that you need? You might be able to retrieve it before "experimenting" with a fix with the use of http://www.fs-driver.org/index.html. Once you have your data safe, then you can work to fix the drive.
