Clicking on the "forum" link on hyperwrt.org homepage brings us directly here. Did the other forum go down Timothy??

It's still there. But I'm thinking of moving it back to here, since I don't have the time to moderate it. Here, the linksysinfo crew can help me.

you could allow some of the more active users and contributors to be moderators.

As I look on the dedicated forum daily, there has been very little need for moderation. Everyone is mostly respectful, and if anyone does get out of line, the "crowd" squelches the problem. I also vote to keep it up and running, and have you pick 3 or so of the active posters that give valid information, or know how to find/ask for it.

It was slow to get going back in March, but it has really developed into a "no extra stuff" source of information.

Several members come to mind as candidates for mods: Rupan, Thibor, tofu (although they are busy with their respective forks), danielhaden, pharma, bagu, and others (No yelling at me everybody...these are names that come to mind and looking at participation. There's lots more of us who are active there :D )

Just some thoughts. I'm sure we can all transition back here if we have to.

From the linksysinfo admin side of things - we are just fine with folks being in either place - our goal is to be able to get the information and help to where it needs to go, no matter where it starts out.

If the hyperwrt developers want to move the discussions here, no prob - if we need to expand the number or forums and add moderators to help in the transitions we can do whatever is needed. Pull together some names like Z has and we'll see if they're interested. (honestly, there's not much moderating necessary as the community is very respectful and would most involve moving posts to the correct forum.)

I know one of the nice features of the HyperWRT specific forums were the multiple forums that allowed for targeted discussion with respect to development, basic setup questions, et cetera . If you'd like those here, let us know.

Basically, comes down to this - what do you guys want? We'll be happy to oblige.

    Thanks everyone.

I think I'm going to promote some users to moderators and put the forum on a new server with more bandwidth. That should solve the current problems.

At the moment I unfortunately can't work much on HyperWRT, but the plan is to release a new version (HyperWRT and HyperWAP) somewhere at the end of this year.
