I have a WRT54G 2.2 with Thibor 15C, and it seems to work great since I installed the new firmware two days ago.

Now, I ping'ed the main router for about 40 minutes while being connected via wireless, and experienced a packet loss of 12 out of 2086 sent. Is this acceptable? I have NO packet loss when I'm connected with cable to the LAN.
The signal strength was great while ping'ing.

I suppose this is going to depend on how anal you want to be. Being directly connected whether wireless or wired you could argue there should be no packet loss. However less than 1% to me is nothing at all to worry about, and as an fyi, not all wireless adapters and router combinations play nice all the time. I used to own a dlink wireless and dlink pmcia card that used to like to drop packets in groups of 5 every couple minutes, but when i changed to an netgear card would rarely loose any.

Thanks for the answer ifican. I guess I can sleep confortably now, knowing that my packet loss is acceptable ;)
