whats the range of wrt54g v7.00.1

    and whats the purpose of 2 antennas,

    i tried to search for these answers on linksys site, but couldnt find the answers.

    No! Only one is used at a time, for diversity. Theres a super-fast switch that'll swap between the two and use the one that receives the client better. This is suppose to help with multipath, when RF signals bounce and you can have the same signal come in at slightly different times...

    As for range, it really depends on the environment. Mine reachs my entire townhouse, outside in the courtyard and even to the park mostly... But when I climb a 90ft antenna tower, I can reach the AP over 3 miles away :)
    If you load DD-WRT or other alternative firmware you can change the power out. I believe 70mW is default, 100mW is safe, up to 250mW but you'd want to add a fan to the chassis for that... Of course, changing transmit power is unidirectional, the client would need to match that for it to benefit a link...
