There are 2 firmware saying the next version will support IPSec VPN Server...

Is any beta version I can test?

I need that one to test the ISA2k4 with IPSec Vpn connection.

The Sveasoft/Alchemy firmware supports IPSEC as a compile time option. I was able to establish a IPSEC connection with Nikkis build of Alchemy. But it's still a beta version. At least for me the IPSEC VPN connection is dropping every few minutes, which in not the case, when using PPTP.

How much cpu time does IPSec use? How fast was the connection speed?
=> Is there enough CPU power for this on the WRT54?

Both PPTP and IPSEC are extremely CPU intesive when using VPN links. Even on my WRT54GS unit, which has the faster 200 MHz CPU compared to the 125 MHz CPU of the WRT54G V1, the VPN links are using >90% CPU time. Both types of VPN encryption are so CPU intensive, that I can hardly get more than 1-2 MBit/s over the VPN link. But I guess, there can't be done too much about that, as this crypto stuff if always very CPU intensive.

Except, if someone finds a way to use the crypto hardware of the WRT54G(S), which is used for hardware AES encryption, for VPN PPTP/IPSEC purposes.

PPTP VPN Server only support dial-in. If I need to setup the site2site connection with PPTP. I need have dial-in and dial-out function.

Any firmware can support IPSec VPN? Could I have the link to download?

The Alchemy-pre5.3 v2.04.4.8sv is saying this version can support IPSec, but compile time option. What's that means? Any one knows how to config that?
