I have an RV082 with firmware 184.108.40.206 -- confused about which firmware I should update it to?
each firmware update usually adds features and bug fixes. i would advise on using at least a 1.3.x firmware as performance of the switch was enhanced. since there is now a new firmware just released, 220.127.116.11-tm then you may as well go for this one.
Thanks for the reply.
I understand that there are two hardware versions of rv082 and mine was bought about 1.5 - 2 years back. Do you recon the new firmware works on mine? Need to unscrew the router from the wall mounted rack to check the hardware version.
where is the hardware version documented on linksys site to say there is 2 versions?
There is only one hardware version for the RV082. There are two router OS versions though. Once you upgrade from 1.1.x firmware versions to 1.3.x firmwares, your router OS is also upgraded as part of the firmware upgrade.
Two versions exists
My RV082 is labelled version 1.1 but there are no way to select that version when downloading new firmware. There is only version 1.0 available as an option... Is the version 1.1 indicating this is another OS? If so - why not have bort versions selectable as an option for firmware (and possible other stuff too!)?
