    Which One?? WRT54GX or WRT54GX2

    Two quick questions....

    1. We need to upgrade from our current setup. Bigger home, and we don't have very good coverage or throughput.

The WRT54GX says up to 8X faster & 3X more coverage. While the "newer" WRT54GX2 says 6X faster & 2X more coverage.

The price difference is really not much between the two... I see the WRT54GX2 available more then the WRT54GX. Is there much of a difference?

    2. Will we have to get a new PCI card for the other computer or can we use the Wireless G with Speedbooster card we already own?

2 antennas vs. 3. Honestly, I say go with the GX as you want as much range as you can get.

The reason the WRT54GX2 is more available is because of its lower price point. I would buy and the WRT54GX versus the WRT54GX2, the firmware is more stable and there are less problems with it. You can use the WMP54GS card, but the maximum benefits occur if you use a WMP54GX card. See the review of the WRT54GX at tomnetworking:

There may be a new version of the WRT54GX version 4.0 coming out it is based on something called SRX400, there is a little information on the FCC OET site. I would wait a few weeks and see if Linksys announces any new products in the SRX line.
