Hello everybody it's the first time I post here. I'm looking for a Wireless Router and I need it only for the web. I asked a friend of mine for help. He told me that the WRT54G is better because it's running with Linux and I can push the signal. Can I also push the signal with the WRT54GC or not. I've seen the WRT54G and the WRT54GC the seller told me that Linksys is not going to produce the WRT54G anymore so I thought to take the WRT54GC would be better.

Can anybody help me and tell me what to do.

Thank you in advance for your help.

The WRT54G exists but the latest version V5 is no longer running Linux.

The reason WRT54G is better because older versions firmware has been customized to become HyperWRT firmware and the likes to add features such as bandwidth management and signal strength adjustments. As of WRT54G V5, it stops being Linux based and so no additional features has been added by 3rd party programmers to date.

The WRT54GC has not received the same treatment as its bigger sibling and so of course the ablity to adjust singal strengths is missing.
