I have been told by some that by using a wireless router that there is a significant speed difference from wired. Some say it is less and some say it is more. What is the truth? I am getting over 1mb less that wired (4100 vs 5400). I am using a wrt54g v5 with the latest firmware, no security, tried different channels, etc. Post up your wired vs. wireless speeds.

depends on what you want to do... browsing the internet, ur router is capable of much more than ur broadband connection and in theory u shouldnt notice much difference

When doing speed tests is it normal to get over 1mb less when wireless. I am only a few feet from the router.
