    Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and it looks like there are some very helpful people on here!
I've been searching for awhile but I couldn't find anything that was like my situation.

I have a couple of questions. First, is it possible to put my wrt54GL running tomato into its wireless ethernet bridge mode and have that connect wirelessly with a netgear wgr614v8 that is acting as a wireless access point or does my netgear need to be in a certain mode too? I'm assuming i would have to have wired connections for all of the clients on the end of the wrt54gl.

Also, I couldn't find any definitive answers to whether the netgear wgr614v6 can work with tomato or any other 3rd party firmware because i would prefer to just put both into WDS. Any ideas?

    Thanks for your time!

you can put your tomato wrt54gl into wireless bridge mode and connect it to what ap you want. no special mode. only security/encryption could do some trouble. (http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/showthread.php?t=63410)

WDS is not wireless bridging mode! For wds both are in ap mode with wds "extention". both need to know the wireless mac from each other and it only works with wep encryption. wds with wpa encryption is IMHO vendor independend, you have to try it.

Also wpa is not wpa2 !

    wgr614v6 don't know
