I am using the latest HyperWRT Firmware on two WRT54GS routers. I am running one of them in client mode acting as a bridge. Is there any way to use the router to find the channel with the least ammout of interference or other wireless networks?

how did you setup your hyperWRT as a bridge?? I have been playing with the wl command in startup scripts to do this - what did you do??

Have you tried Network Stumbler - http://www.netstumbler.com ? I have found this app to be pretty good to locate other wireless signals nearby. It does not run on your router, but on you pc, and will show you the strength of other wireless signals around.
    Hope this helps.

Does netstumbler show non 802.11 signals? In other words if there is interference from say cordless phones, baby monitors, etc will it show that spectrum use?

Netstumbler only shows SSID broadcasts from wireless access points.

Thanks, thats what I thought. Does anyone know of a good way to determine what the best channel to use is if the issue is not other 802.11 networks but instead other 2.4 GHz uses.
