I installed a Linksys wireless network 3 years ago in my house and it has worked fine until I installed software for an iPod with iTunes for my wife's birthday. Since I installed the iPod SW the wireless network drops but still says it is connected. I have to reboot to get the network to work again, then it will drop without warning our indication that it is dropped. Is there any uipgrades, patches or fixes that anyone iknows about. I have Windows XP SP2, Linksys BEFW11S4.V.2 wireless router/access point with a Linksys wireless card. Any information would be helpful.. I have searched for similar configs and not found any. Thanks.

First of all u need to mention if u r ysing the linksys wireless software of the winxp wireless software.
Assuming u r using winxp plz chk the following options --
On the wireless n/w connection --go to viwe available wireless --go to advanced wireless settings --click wireless n/w --click on properties/configure --click on authentication --chk if IEEE box is chkd --unchk that --
P.S. U will have this option only u have a security enabled wireless n/w --also remove any n/w bridge if u have it --

    More Information

Thanks. So not sure what other data I need, but thanks and bear with me. I have a Linksys 4 port Ethernet Wireless access point +cable/dsl router model number BEFW11S4.v2 with a LInksys instant wireless Network PC card model WPC11 ver 3. I am running 128 bit WEP Network authentication open, Authentication IEEE is not checked, nothing is checked in advanced features. The connection works then drops I have to reboot to get it to connect again. My other laptop connects fine and stays up. The big change was loading the Apple iPod and iTunes SW. I have combed the internet looking for similar issues and can not find. Any help is appreciated. Thank you again.

the thing is that i cant c how the iPod SW could do nething...unless u have it checked that u are connect Via dial up modem...i would check that and check it to LAN bc thats what u have...but like i said earier..i dont c how that would have a problem with the connection...

    Checked that

I agree with you that I can not see how that would cause it. I checked that there was not a setting for dial up checked. The only thing I changed was the addition of the iPod SW when the problem started. The wireless network works on my other laptop and stays up, so I figured it had to have something to do with the iPod SW, could the card start having a problem? Or could there be some conflicting driver/firm ware versions? When I reboot it clears up and reconnects or if I do a repair it will clear everything out and reconnect. I am baffled? Thanks for the suggestions so far.
