    Hi, I'm running Tomato 1.23 on WRT54GL.
I have a Canon MP600R wireless printer. In static DHCP I have given it the name MP600R (which is pingable, so Tomato knows about it).
In Device List the name shows as '*'.
    Anyone know why?

Often that means that in some internal table somewhere, the name MP600R was already associated with a different IP address. I usually see this when I've connected a device to the router both via ethernet and via wifi: two different MAC addresses means two different IP addresses, but only one of them can get the machine name in the device list.

This is a bug that appeared in 1.23, actually.

This problem appeared, IIRC, in 1.21. My laptop never shows its name, in wireless mode, connect to the router via a cable, not a problem.

As to why, I do not know the technical reason, perhaps an email to the author may help?
