WPA wireless security - TKIP available, AES isn't?

    I just got a WRV54G. I set it up with the default firmware and had WPA working with my PowerBook.

    I upgraded to the latest firmware, v2.37, and I thought it was working with the same config, but after a while I started having problems with the wireless connection. I looked at the config, and I see that only TKIP is available under WPA, AES is not (in the HTML, the AES option is hidden).

    Is there some other configuration that causes AES to be en/dis - abled? Or, was it just disabled in the newer firmware version?

    Jump up to either firmware 2.37.13 or 2.38 and you should be alright.

    Hi Doc,

    As far as I know the lastest WRV54G firmware available is 2.37

    2.03, 2.10, 2.21, 2.25.2, 2.36 and 2.37 are listed.

    If you have access to more updated version let me know.

    Why as matter of fact, yes I do. I had to ride Linksys tech support like "zoro" for almost two days before I got 2.37.13 from them; as most things are from Linksys, it was a beta that was never officially released. Firmware 2.38 use to be offered on linksysinfo earlier in the year.

    PM your email address and I'll email 2.37.13 to you.

    I already found v2.38 in Download area.

    Upgraded and problem remains :(

    Error can be reproduced by choosing WPA-TKI -> Save, get back and try to choose WPA-AES...option is now unavailable (in the HTML, the AES option is hidden).

    Nothing seems to make any effect, now I can say I passed trough all firmwares since v2.03! :(

    Remains with the same bug at Wireless -> Security -> WPA Preshared Key, AES is no longer available at the drop down menu but for my surprise it is into the HTML code:

    <SELECT name="wpa_auth_method" style="font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial">
    <OPTION value="2" selected><font face="Arial" style="font-size: 8pt">TKIP</font></OPTION>

    Any help would be really apreciated.
