WPC55AG is causing my laptop to freeze (Win ME)

    I recently purchased a Linksys Wireless Adapter (WPC55AG) and installed in on my Toshiba notebook which operates on Windows ME. The connection works great when I boot the computer and then connect the adapter. It seems if I'm continuously surfing on the internet it works great. But if I get up for a minute or two and come back I find that my computer isn't able to open any programs or even shut down. If I click on something the hourglass pops up and remains processing. I can't even unplug the hardware. I then have to do a hard reboot. I can move the mouse around but cannot open or run any programs. I hit Ctrl-ALt-Delete and see Explorer is "Not Responding". What can I do to stop this?
