WRE54G problems

    I just bought a WRE54G and it's giving me problems. After I first configured it, it worked fine for about 4 hours, after that it would have a strong signal, but it would say limited or no connectivity and I couldn't connect to the internet. (And I could not ping the router). Now, When I unplug it for a few seconds and plug it back in, it works for about 10 minutes before the signal drops back down to Very Low or Low, but I can still connect to the internet. In the Wireless Monitor, I can see to signals - one from the router at around 40% strength, and another at 85% strength, which is from the WRE54G. I can't figure out why it drops the stronger signal. However, I've pinged after the signal had dropped. The first time, it would not reply. I unplugged the expander, plugged it back in, then reconnected to the strong signal (Very Good or Excellent strength). After about 7 mins the signal dropped way back down. I pinged again, and this time it did reply. The strange thing is, when I log into the admin interface for the expander, I can browse around for about 30 seconds, then it loses the connection to the expander, and I can't access the admin again unless I unplug & replug the power cord. I think that has something to do with the signal loss. It's a version 2. And I purchased it on ebay, so I'm screwed, right? My router is a WRT54G v.5

    Well I chatted with Linksys support for a while this afternoon, they guided me through setting it up manually. It's been working great now, knock on plastic:biggrin:
