I tried an experiment with the Linksys QOS. I set it to 80% of my bandwidth, and gave my PAP2 high priority set by MAC address. I started a huge upload to my server in Arizona. Then I started a VOIP call. To my shock the upload speed that my ftp transfer was doing did not go down one bit. It was still saturating the line. Of course my VOIP sounded terrible. I dont think the Linksys QOS really works.

So I may try to flash to DD-WRT. Does DD QOS work any better? If so I am confused about setting the reserve. Do I set aside the amount of bandwidth that my VOIP needs (100k) or do I set aside the difference between my upload capacity and the VOIP. My upload pipe is 384K. So do I use 284 or 100 in the upload box of the QOS screen?

you should use 80%-90% of yyour upstream bandwidth. ddwrt firmware has better QoS features. what version of GS do you have?
