Sveasoft @ www.sveasoft.com and DD-WRT @ dd-wrt.com both have firmwares that will work on the Broadcom-chipped versions of the WRT300N (ie: the WRT300N v1.0) marketed in North America. I have experimented with both and find that Sveasoft's version does a better job at supporting MIMO and Wireless-N...at least for now.

Sveasoft works on a subscription model. It's $20US a year, which given the author's current rate of releasing new firmware isn't a bad deal.

DD-WRT is really good code too, with a lot of very nice features, including the fact that it's free. Although the author, Brainslayer, would probably very much appreciate it if you pressed the "Donate by PayPal" link on the GUI and sent him a few euros to help defray his development costs!

I don't know about other compatible firmwares for this box but suppose that Thibor's HyperWRT might support it too. Just click on the "Search" button and look around.

    Cisco PIX 501, 2 x WRT54GS, WRV200, WRT300Nv1

You mean Thibor's HyperWRT and support for the WRT300N is comming (we hope).

I have been working on the 300Nv1, but can't be released in it's present state. i don't feel that it's anywhere near as good as the G/GS/SL firmwares so i can't in good consience(spelling?) put my name to it. Hopefully in the not too distant future this will change

From what I can see, nobody is working on any firmware for the v2.0, which is sad, as it's better than the v1.0

    Oh well...

This is because Atheros has not released drivers for the chipset, wifi and so on that stands in the V2. So until this is release it will not be a 3.part firmware for the WRT300n v2.

Pitty shame if you ask me :(

And a break of the GPL code probably but......

Hope the drivers will be release in the nearest future, since i have 2 WRT300n v2 that i want to use in WDS mode :(

I found this on the linksys page for the WRT300N v2.

    GPL Code Center

The files available on this page have been provided under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Select your Linksys product model and a firmware version from the list below and download the source code library
