    Hi guys,

I've had a look through this, and many other forums, in search of an answer to my problem.

I have a WRT300N v.2 and every time I restart it the wireless LED goes out after 2-3 seconds and never comes on again! Thus nothing can either see it nor connect to it!

I have tried all channels, N, G & B configs, several firmwares (2.00.13-20), factory defaults, and manual resets and nothing seems to work!

The startup sequence is as follows:
    1. Power on
    2. Power LED, Ethernet 1 LED (this computer), Wireless LED - All green
    Security LED - Yellow
    3. After 2-3 seconds the power LED goes orange then green and the wireless LED goes out. Everything else starts up as normal.

All settings are as recommended in the manuals, forums, etc.

One thing I have noticed is that there is no MAC address for the router in the wireless status info!

Anyone out there got any bright ideas? I've run out! :wall:

Just hard-reset the router and see if it lights up with the defauls settings. AFAIK, the wireless card is turned on by default for all wireless routers.

Hey, quick answer! Thanks, but that didn't work either.
Reset button for 5-10 secs, lots of orange power LED action, but still no wireless light after 3 secs.

Turn the router ON, hold RESET for 30sec, unplug the power cord(still hold reset) and wait 30sec, plug the power cord and wait another 30sec(still hold reset).
And now do just normal power cycle. Any luck?

    I'm afraid not!

Reset 30 secs - Power LED Orange
    Power out 30 secs
Power in, Reset 30 secs still - Flashing Orange/Green power
    Wait 30 secs
Power out/in restart - Wireless on for 3 secs, off after power flashes orange

    No difference.

    Just a thought!!!

    Any special procedures for downgrading?

It had 2.00.20 in it when I bought it and I've tried all revisions down to 2.00.14 with no luck.

Just had the very same problem here with clients wrt300n v2.0. Wifi LED turns off after 2-3 sec after router boots up.
Router was working fine, just no wifi ...

I opened the router box to have a look ... and ... WiFi module was not aligned properly in the pci slot ... could happen if you dropped the router or with some serious bump or shake and since the pci safety locks are not looking very confident here ..
Anyway, try this if nothing else works. It worked for me ..
