i got this startup script off of the uTorrent site -

    echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_broadcasts
    echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_ignore_bogus_error_responses
    echo "600 1800 120 60 120 120 10 60 30 120" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_conntrack_tcp_timeouts

can somebody explain to me what it does? also will it have any issues with gaming with bf2?

You'll need to load aftermarket firmware to take advantage of that script, and if you upgrade to the latest HyperWRT Tofu or Thibor, you'll find that the "P2P Fix" is already in place.

Upgrade to a more recent HyperWRT.

You can load that startup script and it will probably help with P2P, but there are SO MANY MORE fixes and improvements in HyperWRT Tofu and Thibor that it's well worth the upgrade.

Simply put: As you know from http://www.hyperwrt.org/ 2.1b1 is

Tofu and Thibor's LATEST versions (13c and 14 as of the time of writing this msg) are based on Linksys newer Codebase(s), 4.30.1 & 4.70.8 respectively.

Tofu is for the WRT54G (NOT v5!) See http://www.polarcloud.com/tofu for applicable versions)
    Thibor is for the
Thibor & Tofu are now almost identical and Thibor can now be used on a G or a GS. Please do some reading as to HOW to flash Thibor on a G though. (See http://www.polarcloud.com/tofu - Inset Box)

i flashed it to tofu 13c with no problems, is thibor 14 better?

No. It isn' better and it is isn't worse. You won't notice any difference between the two, except possibly, as I understand it, if you use clients or other routers that have afterburner enabled, as the GS version enables that on the G (selected models, so pls READ some more yourself). Even then the real-world benefits of afterburner are apparently somewhat dubious. YMMV.

my only wifi setup is in a ibm t42, so it is just strictly b/g, no afterburner stuff. i will stick with this one, the tofu13c, works very nice. thanks for informing me about it :)

do you think that startup script i first posted will help at all with torrents? and would it have any ill effects on bf2?
