I've recently bought this router and before i did it, i've been searching on this forum for opinions.

I didn't face any problems at all, in fact i've noticed a great stability on my internet connection :D

but since i use emule, i've noticed that the connection is getting pretty slow... i used to had more that 2000 on the queue list ( almost 3000) and now i cant reach that number ! not even 2000 :?

i've noticed that when it reaches 1900 it starts to lose connections, since it drops to 1890 or lower. Yesterday i moved to HyperWRT 2.1b1 (it's the beta version available on the official site) but the problem continues. ah almost forgot... i was using the latest official firmware from linksys before version 4.something :?

while searching this forum i found a command to put into the startup script, but i'm not sure if it will help my problem... can someone help me ? 8)

How to overcome Bittorent and eDonkey with too many connection using Talisman and Alchemy.

*For Talisman, you don't need to do anything as its aready build in with the script.

For Alchemy and HyperWRT using the follwing script..

    1. Go to Administration, Diagnostics, Run.
    2. Cut the script below and paste it into command box.

    echo 4096 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_conntrack_max
    echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_broadcasts
    echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_ignore_bogus_error_responses
    echo 512 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/neigh/default/gc_thresh1
    echo 2048 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/neigh/default/gc_thresh2
    echo 4096 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/neigh/default/gc_thresh3
    echo "600 1800 120 60 120 120 10 60 30 120" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_conntrack_tcp_timeouts

    3. Click only the Save Startup.

since i put that code i didn't reboot the router yet but it may be my mistake, but it seems emule is running much better. :D

Is it really necessary to reboot ?

this may be a silly question
