Question: How can I configure SPAN or enable Port Mirroring for my WRT54G Router?

Backgroud: I have 4 PC's on a home network. I have installed IM Detect software on my PC to monitor over the network the kids instant messaging. The monitoring software says I need to set the switch to SPAN or Port Mirroring in order for the software to detect the IM traffic on the network.

Any ideas on how to do this?

I too would be really interested in this feature too. I "span" ports at work and it's great for sniffing traffic. I really don't like hooking up dumb hubs everytime I want to packet sniff, and they are getting increasingly hard to find as switched hubs flood the market.

The only way you are going to do this on a soho device is to get your computer in the path of the data stream. So run some type of internet connection sharing or use a hub.
