I have a 512K ADSL connection and a WRT54G connected via cable to my notebook.

My ADSL connection works like this: My WRT54G is configured for PPoE with my username and password. After that I need to get into my provider webpage and choose my ISP and type my ISP's username and password. Doing that it stays connected indefinately if only surfing, gaming and downloading over the web. Whenever I try to use eMule after 2 hours I loose my connection. I tried the startup script people sent a few posts down and guess what? The samething keeps happening, no chages at all.

This problem is really making me crazy since I can't find a solution and I can't find anyone with a similar problem.

    WRT54G V2.2
    HyperWRT 2.1B
    Notebook connected throught ethernet port.
    ADSL 512K

    Please any help is apreciated.

PS: I have port forwarding configured and I get HighID. Firewall enabled too.
Is it possible to be a hardware problem?

I used to have problems with emule dropping the connection too, once the beta firmware was out, gave it a try and its worked so far. Currently using HyperWRT 2.1b1 , manually overclocked CPU to 216.
Might as well give it a shot if you have no alternatives.
The beta firmware is here http://www.siemens-mobiles.org/linksys/index.php?dir=wrt45g/Official/
If it works for you, and want to keep HyperWRT instead, you can manually overclock the CPU.
http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules....pic&t=2601&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=480 shows how to overclock it manually.
