I've had this new router for about a week and haven't really had any problems, but today my internet browsing started lagging.

I thought it was my internet provider doing maintenence at first, so I just turned off the modem, but when I went to go add a new port while I was waiting, I found that the linksys browser control panel was lagging.

This has me worried because 1) the modem isn't on and 2) the linkysys browser CP shouldn't get lag from an internet connection because it's not online.

I turned my modem back on and decided to test around. I downloaded a 10 megabyte file and watched the speed of it on my download bar in Firefox (I tried IE too, same thing). The download speed went from about 1-5 kb/sec -5 secs-> 350 kb/sec -5 secs-> 1-5 kb/s and it just kept going up and down like that.

Does anyone know what this problem is and how I can fix it?

I host a Shoutcast Radio transmitting at 56kb/sec from a laptop on my network 24/7 and do download a lot of files via torrent, but I didn't think the load would effect it since I've had an older model for years with no problem and the same download pressure (300-500kb/sec).

I'm not having the problem right now, but when I did, restarting the PC didn't help, but I didn't try turning off the router, I'll try that next time.
