Hi. I have a WRT54G router installed in my home. It was running ok up until recently. Now it seems to lock up every 30 minutes. I have the V5 w/ DD-WRT V23 SP2, but it was doing this even on the stock LS firmware. I have 3 PCs connected wirelessly (my laptop, my brothers laptop, and a desktop in my room) and occasionally my PSP. I also have an XBox and a small file server attached via ethernet. The PCs occasionally run torrent clients, but for the most part it is normal internet traffic. WEP has been disabled in favor of MAC filtering. The router sits on top of a wooden bookcase in a well ventilated area room, and runs cool to the touch. So that throws my theory of overheating out. Any ideas what might be causing this?

    Thank You

I have a friend that was having a similar problem with his WRT54G version 2 locking up. He had narrowed it down to one of his computers was causing the problem. When he shut down that one computer the router would start working again with the other desktop computer and his laptop. All three computers he has are connectiong to the WRT54G wireless.

well i dont know. i've tested connections w/ each machine seperately and they seem pretty good by themselves. is there anything i should look at specifically to see if it may be a specific pc causing the lockup?

i also read a theory that it pay be becuase of the ethernet controller and CPU running at 2 different speeds (216/200 respectively) and overclocking the cpu to match might help. I just tried this, along w/ boosting my wireless signal to 70 and turning of SSID broadcast just to see if it helps.

i will let u know how it turns out, but any other ideas on what may be causing this or things to look for might help.
