I'm having poor networking performance using my wrt54G to connect two ethernet devices to the ethernet ports. The download/copy speeds barely exceeds 4MB/s and the wireless ones never exceeds 2MB/s on a purely lan configuration that is between two ethernet devices.
Is there any setup I need to perform in my router to enable high speed transfer ?
I set up my PC ethernet card to auto speed and not force 100bt
the firmware of the router is :v2.02.7, Feb. 27, 2004

Check your TCIP receive windows size (e.g. RWIN). It should be set at least 32K. You can gor to WWW.DSLREPORTS.COM and go to tests and run a TWEAK test. The most you are going to get in a wireless to wireless is a 22Mb on a normal router, or 41Mb on a MIMO router. You czn use IPERF to do your testing. Do not believe the advertised rates, they are just hype.
