I have a user with a laptop that accesses multiple lans. Therefore it does not have a static IP and gets it's IP through DHCP. At the user's home he has wrt54g. At home his vpn client will not connect. The manufacturer of the client tells me I need to open up UDP 500, 4500 & TCP 50. I can not figure out how to do this on the WRT54g. Under the port forwarding section it wants me to list an IP to forward to and since he gets his IP via DHCP, I don't know what the IP will be. Can I port forward to a range of IPs? Any other work arounds?

what you need to do is enable nat-t on the vpn client and make sure the vpn server is also setup for nat-t as well. The only other thing the user sitting behind the wrt would have to do is make sure ipsec vpn passthru is enabled.
