WRT54G/S good for heavy traffic?

I'm looking for a new router and the WRT54G/S seems really interesting. I don't plan on using wireless anytime soon but I figured out that since wireless routers are soo cheap theses days I am better going with a wireless one.

Ok, I'm looking for a router that can handle heavy P2P traffic over ethernet. I used to have a d-link and after 150 connection the router would reset so I'm looking for an alternative. The WRT54G seems good in theory since it has a nice amount of ram and CPU speed, and 3rd party firmwares offer great QoS.

Now I was wondering if I was better spending the 20$ premium to get a WRT54GS for the added memory or if the WRT54G would still do the job. Or if I should avoid the WRT54G/S for that kind of usage.

Thanks in advance for your help.
