I have WRT54G V4 with Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor14 version firmware. I have a XiMeta Netdisk 250 GB External Hard drive which is attached to the router through the ethernet port (http://www.ximeta.com/products/network_drives/netdisk/index.php). The problem I am having is, the Netdisk is constantly getting disconnected and reconnected again and again. I had a regular linksys wireless B router before and never had problem with that router. I am not sure how I can resolve this issue. Please if any one has the solution, I would love to know more about this.

Try giving the disk a static ip

Does this happen with the stock Linksys firmware?

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? There are known issues with NDAS and certain routers/wireless APs.

I will try giving a static ip address.

I havent tried this with the stock firmware of linksys. I had netgear router before and didnt have a problem. I had a linksys b router and it also didnt have a problem.

i would think giving it a static IP would be the most reliable way regardless of which router and firmware

Thibor 14 allows for static IP's.

From the main config page, labelled setup, there will be an option labelled Static DHCP, where you can list the MAC address of the Netdisk (It should be lablled on the disk itself) and assign it an address outside of your DHCP range.
