wrt54g to netgear wgt624 - doesn't work with encryption

Using the satori 4 drivers on the wrt54g in client mode to the wgt624 as a gateway. Works just fine, as long as no encryption is used. As soon as I try either WPA using TKIP (I don't think the netgear supports aes) or WEP 128, they can no longer connect at all. Obviously I tried them for the same key for WEP and the same passphrase for WPA, rebooted both after each attempt, etc. I'm trying to find out if I'm doing something wrong, or if the wrt54g using satori just won't connect in client mode to a netgear if I use wep or wpa, in which case I need to get a new gateway (I assume the wrt54g's can talk to each other in with wep or wpa enabled in satori). Any help, info or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Fixed my own problem

Realized that WPA isn't supported in satori, and in WEP, the problem was that Netgear was setup for preshared key and Linksys was set to automatic. Left linksys on auto, set Netgear to open key, and now they talk just peachy using wep.
