WRT54G v1.1-DEAD Wireless, reboot sometimes brings it back.

I've had a WRT54G v1.1 for about a year and a half... I used the wireless on occasion when I first got it, and got the occasional loss of connection... which I discounted as being the nature of the beast.

Now that I have been using it extensively... I've noticed that the wireless will go dead. Cycling power, soft reset will bring it back in very few situations. Usually a reset to factory defaults with the reset button is often what is needed to cure the problem. The physical ports always work though... it's just the wireless that decides to take a holiday.

I've tried many flavours of firmware, Linksys, Sveasoft, HyperWRT, etc... and still the problem persists.

The occasional glitch in a connection I can handle... but when the thing goes totally dead... it is a real pain. It might come back for 5 minutes and then I can't get it back for half an hour.

I'm using a WPC54G card with my laptop... while it remains a possiblity of being the culprit... even when a roommate had a desktop with a D-Link PCI wireless card... he did see the wireless disappeaer as well.

Anybody else have this problem? I think I got a dud right from the get go... but didn't use it enough to know, bugger it's out of warranty.
