The router was flashed from v1.1 of HyperWRT to v2.0. Afterwards the Internet LED on the router was off, as was the PC Activity LED on the modem it is connected to. I reset the router, unplugged it, and finally flashed it back to v1.1 with no result -- it acted as if it wasn't plugged into the modem at all.

If I unplug both the modem and router, then plug back in the router, the Internet LED will stay on, indicating that it is connected; when I then turn on the modem the LED alternates between staying off and blinking for 1-2 seconds.

I am utterly perplexed and at a loss of ideas, besides parting with $50 for new equipment. :?

Before doing a firmware flash, you should reset the router to factory defaults. You should have done the flash from a wired connection. See if you can ping the router at the local address of the router, within 30 seconds of a power up. The default address is If you can ping it use the firmware upgrade exercutable. The other alternative is to tftp firmware to the router. The firmware has to be less than 3 MB in size. You can llok for an old version of the firmware on the Linksys FTP site: ftp.linksys.com .

I didn't reset it before the flash... whoops. I can connect to the router just fine, but it doesn't want to work with the modem anymore.
