I have just confirmed with linksys tech support, that three or four WRT54G v5's I deployed today, obtain an IP from DHCP even when set static. But oddly enough, when you access it remotely to view the ip settings, it looks like it was set to a static ip's in the DHCP range!!

This is for ISP's deploying these devices with a static IP.

Just thought you guys would like to know.

this is WITH the most current firmware. 1.00.2

long time known issue with vxworks - the v5 operating system... it's the same os used in Replay TV, as I recall... and those units have the same problem - getting a dynamic address even when you've configured it to use Static IP...

Linksys put out the V5 to make more profit - and all they served up was a SH*T SANDWICH.

That bug have already been fixed with the firmware 1.00.2.

What you need to do is to reset your router and install the firmware and the problem should be fixed.
