    Hello everyone,

I'm thinking of buying a new router, but I want to see if I can fix this problem before I go out and spend the money.

I noticed that once in a while, the connection on both my wired desktop and wireless laptop (both running Windows XP), the connection would "hiccup" only for a second and cause me to get disconnected from whatever game I was playing, MSN Messenger, etc. The connection would be fine a moment later, but it's especially annoying when gaming.

Somehow, I noticed that this happens exactly when my brother connects wirelessly with his Vaio laptop, which is running XP.

    I'm using firmware version, June 7, 2007.

Any ideas as to what could be the cause of this? My apologies if there's any information I forgot to provide.

The hiccup you spoke about, happen even if your brother connects wired to your router or just wirelessly ?

Very good question. I never even thought of that. I'll check next time he visits, which will possibly be this weekend.

Haha thanks bro. I gotta have my Danzig once in a while ;).

That's what I've been hearing, but I wanted to give it one last shot before I cave and buy a new router. I've decided to make the jump to Wireless N and get a new PCMCIA for my laptop.

Thank you all for being so patient. I wish I had something to contribute to these forums, but hey, if you ever have a guitar or general music question, I'm your man! :) lol
