hi, i have version 5 (ewk) of the linksys WRT54G wireless router. how do i disable the routers firewall (just for temporary use)? i noticed that in the older versions, there was a "Disable Firewall" option in the "Security" tab of the router configuration page, but my page doesnt have that option. the reason why im asking this is because im having trouble hosting some online xbox games. it seems like somethings blocking from ppl seeing my hosted game...so anyways, i just want to try disabling the firewall to my router to see if its the solution. thanks.

you may need to "port forward" for certain games. this opens ports that games use and direct them to your PC or server.

a quick way is set DMZ to point to the PC/Server on your LAN.

dont leave it like this however. your open to attack. better to use port forwarding.

You can't! You have discovered one of the many new "features" of Version 5 of the WRT54G-- a non-defeatable, impossible to verify, SPI firewall!

Sure you can. Go under the security tab and uncheck the box next to Block Anonymous Internet Requests. Firewall off.
