i have 2 wrt54g's with wds (and of course wpa aes) and i wanted to measure the speed. how many kbps i am getting. is there any programs that i could use to measure this

and also for anyone who has done or has wds working do you have to reboot the router everytime you make a change in the settings of the router. for example if i change a fierwall seting in the web interface or any other setting i have to reboot the router to get the wireless back. as soon as i hit "save settings" button i lose the wireless ssid and the wireless led on the front of the router turns off. i am using dd-wrt pre 5 the latest pre 5. one router is a WRT54Gv2 and a WRT54GSv2.

Try IPERF at http://dast.nlanr.net/Projects/Iperf/. Download the Windows version, it runs as a service. You have to install on both machines. You will have to adjust the TCP receive window size for higher throughputs. You can change it by editing your registry or use DRTCP available at WWW.DSLREPORTS.COM. You understand by using WDS you cut your bandwidth.
