I have a WRT54G and a WAP54G (repeater mode), yesterday I installed the Alchemy 1.0 to the WRT and Wap54G lost comunication and therefor repeater capability.
I just installed the original firmware back to the WRT and everything got to normality.
Any suggestions? What I would like to do is to improve WRT perfomance and WAP's as well, and keep this WAP repeating (wrt) or extending WRT's range, which is the idea.

Why not try HyperWRT. Is there a reason you are using Achemy, such as static IP-addresses. HyperWRT has a smaller feature set, but you can boost power on it.

Will this firmware allow my WAP54g to recognize the wrt and repeat the signal?

    Extending/repeating WRT54G signal

Just a quick question if I may: I have just installed a wlan based on WRT54G with higher db antennas, feeding off a Satellite IP modem. All works well and the WRT54G is decent - I run a B&B and wish to allow Guests to access the wireless for convenience (no band hogging, etc...). I run WPA security. I just need to slight extend range into some corner of the premises: the WAP54G solution as extender/repeater (what's the difference??) is cheap - many other such solutions seem to be more expensive than productive). Does it work well enough? Signal loss: any? I had just come by another reference to this method, at (FYI):

I'll appreciate advice and input! Thanks - Roger T.
