What happened is that my roommate moved, and took all of the stuff for the router (disc, manual, box, etc) all out to Washington, but left the router in Wisconsin. For 2 years we never had to edit or change anything on the router, so we never had a problem. But now I need to set it up for a new computer moving in. Neither of us remember the password we set up initially, but the 2 computers of mine that were left still work fine, as everything was preset. But now a new computer needs wireless access, and our network is password locked.

So from what Ive gathered so far from searching is that I need to reset my router and set everything up from the beginning, but from other routers Ive had, it usually takes a disc to set the router up, which I dont have. Do I need one? I just want to avoid resetting the router and then not being able to fix it, and screwing things up even worse.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

after the reset, type in, leave your username blank and type in "admin" for the password (without quotes). From there you are given tabs to browse to sections like the wireless tab to configure wireless etc.
