I am not sure which type of wireless device should I get?

In the Basement I have an Broadband DSL Router(non-wireless). I will connect my new wireless device to the DSL Router and that will be placed on 1st floor.

Second wireless AP or Router will be on 4th floor.

DSL Router >> AP ))) ((( AP >> Wireless Clients

Both of them will be beside the window (same vertical direction). I think for the signal strength I need antennas.

    1.Should I get 2 WAP54G or 2 WRT54GL (updated with 3rd party firmware)
    2. Are the 9dBi Antennas suitable for that situation?

    Thank u all

Forget WAP54G, buy WRT54GL + 3rd party firmware, WAP54G can work with 3rd party firmware too, but WAP54G is hardware limited.

    thanks for the reply ivo

    I think so too

Do u know anything about antennas?

I need a good signal from 1st floor up to 4th floor. I suppose i will do it not inside of the building but from outside of it.

So i dont know if it is enough to put them just next to the window.
or 9dBi antennas fit? Should I get more powerful one?

Better antennas - better signal and more speed. Use patch panel or omni antenna if you don't have good connection first.
