I have the opportunity to exchange my GS for the GL model.

Is it worth it? I know that the GL can run opensource firmwares, but I don't even know what these can do for me.

I am pretty green when it comes to this stuff, so maybe someone can give me the lowdown on what an opensource firmware can give me that the GS can't.

    GS and Linux

GS can also run open-source firmwares, only the new v5-version (serial CN7...) cannot, unfortunately (see the excellent article on this site).
I am searching for an older GS-model, as I don't want to miss the speed gain (I have a Speedbooster card in my Powerbook,-).

Does anybody know if Linksys plans to provide a Linux-enabled version for the GS-series (aka GSL:), as with the GL?
