I'm pretty new to linksys and this forum, so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I'd like to use the wrt54gs as a wireless router where the wireless could be the wan port! Is there a firmware to reach this goal and what hardware revision do you advice?

Another important question is about QoS, If I am able to have the router configured as above explained, is there any QoS option, wired or wireless (the best think could be have WMM on the wireless configured as client).

    Thanks in advance

DD-WRT, Sveasoft Alchemy/Talisman would be your best choices. What you are looking for is called "client mode". All 3 will support QoS as well as many other features. Do some reading on the different versions and I am sure you will find one that will work for you.
