Has anyone else ran into a WRT54GS V2.0 (S/N CGN3xxx) unit that seems to have a working front panel Cisco/secure Button & LED. Mine started working after I installed the latest DD-WRT v23. Had never worked before. I'm guessing maybe it has a v2.1 or higher board in it by accident?

    Mine too

I have a CGN3 V2.0 that I purchased at Sam's club about 2 month's ago. I loaded the latest firmware 4.70.6 and the SES/Cisco light was on. When pushed, it activated SES and flashed white to yellow as it auto set security with SES cards in range. By your post, this isn't normal? Since then, I have used HYPER WRT and DD-WRT V23. The cisco/SES light works with both of these firmwares. On the page that shows the hardware anatomy, the V2, V2.1 looks like the same board. Are you aware of a deference?

I purchased mine from Sam's as well. I don't believe the v2.0 (CGN3xxx) is supposed to have the SES security feature. According the the pics on this site, the v2.0 board is not supposed to have the switch behind the Cisco logo. This would make sense since there is no SES Logo on the front of the router. I too have been running Hyper-WRT (latest 11/18/05 version) with no problem. But the DD_WRT (11/18/05) version seems to loose connectivity after about 30min and no activity with all the pc's connected unless I reboot it. Not sure why.
